MAC Satin Lipstick in Sushi Kiss

Another lipstick review! Anyways, I've been addicted to MAC lipsticks lately and  remember in my last post, before going to Malaysia, I bought 3 MAC lipsticks. This was one of the shades.

MAC Sushi Kiss is a Satin finish. Not drying as a Matte formulation but just right. It gives that rich moisturizing effect. I'm leaning towards corals this year for some reason that's why I decided to buy this one. It's a wearable muted orange/coral.

If I remember correctly, I think NYX also has this shade in their Round Lipstick line . I think the shade is Watermelon but I never wore that shade because it was so creamy. It also gave that luster effect on the lips. It also smells like soap. If you know what I mean. This however is the perfect shade. It's not shiny when worn on the lips plus it's a muted orange. Orange is like the new red nowadays.

Product Rundown:

Product: MAC Sushi Kiss
Where to Buy: MAC Online Store / Nordstrom /  Trusted Online Sellers
Price: $16 / PHP 850 (OL Seller)

What I like about the Product:

- I like the color
- Moisturizes the lips
- I love the scent
- wearable color

What I don't like about the Product:

- None I can think of

Overall

I think this lipstick is worth buying. It compliments me in general. The price is a bit steep but it's MAC. There are other dupes for this shade which are budget friendly but then again, quality-wise, you cannot go wrong with MAC.

Disclaimer:
I bought this item. I am not in any way  sponsored by MAC nor am I affiliated with them. I was not paid to write this entry. All the things written above are my honest opinion about the product.

MAC Playland Lipsticks

MAC released the Playland Collection for Summer 2014. They described the collection as "Funtastical wonderland where spring becomes fabulous whirlwind of creativity and amusement".

The collection actually reminds me of Katy Perry's video California Gurls. The enigma of the video was also whimsical and the colors were vibrant. Not to mention, Katy also released the song in time for spring-summer.

I was able to purchase the Limited Edition MAC lipstick last week and I am very happy with my new lip colors.

I bought 2 shades - one is Happy-Go-Lucky and the other is Red Balloon. Both lipsticks are limited edition and comes from the Playland collection.

I am so in love with the Happy-Go-Lucky shade. It's a bright pink amplified creme lipstick. I even wore it yesterday at a wedding event.

That's the Happy-Go-Lucky shade.

This is the Red Balloon on my lips. I both love the colors. Both are in pink shades. Red Balloon is on the darker pink. I can't really say it's Red. It's more of the reddish pinkish color.

The lipsticks in general are highly pigmented. Although longevity wise I would say it only lasted 3 hours until it faded and needs to be re-touched. It's also very moisturizing.

I really love buying limited edition lipsticks. Maybe because I tend to regret not buying one specially with MAC LEs that I really like.

Side Note:
Anyways....I've been wanting to buy the Maleficent lipstick but I have too many red lipsticks already and to be honest, I'm not so fond of wearing red lipsticks because it makes me look older hahaha :) I think the True Loves Kiss is similar to the Viva Glam Rhianna. I opted not to purchase online. It was released in the US a few weeks ago. I want LEs in my collection but O really have a lot of red lipsticks. I can still think if I'll buy it or not because it will be released here in Manila on Wednesday in all the MAC counters...

MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Swatches

Finally, I was able to get my hands on this lippie. I want to share with you the swatch and the pictures of this lipstick.

So that's the box of the lippie. It has Rihanna's signature in red. The lipstick case is also red. It actually looks like a frosted red capsule. The Viva Glam Nicki and Rue Paul was a glossy finish if I remember it right.

Anyway, I love the color of the lipstick. It's a deep red with a blue undertone. Similar to Ruby Woo.

Left Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick Right Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass

I just don't think that it is advisable to buy this product if you have the Riri Woo or the Ruby Woo because it's actually the same color more or less. If you are a fan of Rihanna then you can buy this as a collectible item but otherwise it would be a waste to buy this product. I mean I love MAC and all the artist endorsed products of MAC specially the Viva Glam series because part of it goes to charity.

Overall, I like the color and the pigmentation of the lipstick. Not really a must have if you have the Ruby Woo but it's a nice collectible.

Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 versus BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette

I received my UD Naked Palette 2 last February and now is the only time that I wrote about it. I've always been a fan of Urban Decay. I love their products. I was ecstatic when I heard last December that they would be releasing a sequel to the Naked Palette. I tried ordering several times online last December but it was always out of stock. By the time January came, they've already released hundreds of stocks because of the overwhelming demand from all over the world. I got mine from Sephora.com.

Anyways, if you're a follower, I'm a makeup junkie. I love makeup. Any kind would do, drugstore or branded, name it. Last year, I hoarded a lot of stuff from BH Cosmetics. I love BH Cosmetics. Specially their eye shadow palettes.

Going back, so, I ordered the UD Naked Palette 2, as expected, the product did not fail me. Here are some pictures of the Palette:

UD Naked Palette 2

UD Lip Junkie in Naked

What I love about the Naked 2 is that it comes with the travel size Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Naked. The gloss is flavored. It tastes mint-y. The eye shadows are highly pigmented. Believe me when I say it is pigmented. Even if you scratch yourself with tons of soap and water, it won't come off. I had a hard time rubbing off the blackout eye shadow when it smeared on my bed and my hands.

The down side of having the palette is that I have the BH Cosmetics Shimmer Palette. The shadows that I oh so love from the Naked Palette are almost identical to the ones that are in BH. I said earlier, the eye shadows from BH Cosmetics are highly pigmented. It gives the same effect with or without the primer.

On the picture below is a comparison of swatches from both Urban Decay and BH Cosmetics. Pistol and Chopper are identical to the shimmer eye shadows from BH Cosmetics.

UD Naked Palette 2 retails at $50 while the BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette is around $19.95. It all depends on the consumer but for me, I'd go for the Shimmer Palette if you're on a budget.
