Because I'm Bored.....I'll try baking a Cheesecake! Yumm!!

I was looking for baking stuff online...I found several recipes for a cheesecake and stumbled upon this:

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Prep Time: 30 mins
Cook Time: 1 Hour
Ready in: 7 hours 30 mins

  • 15 graham crackers, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9 inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter. Press onto bottom of springform pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Blend in milk, and then mix in the eggs one at a time, mixing just enough to incorporate. Mix in sour cream, vanilla and flour until smooth. Pour filling into prepared crust.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Turn the oven off, and let cake cool in oven with the door closed for 5 to 6 hours; this prevents cracking. Chill in refrigerator until serving.

*It says there the wait time is 7 hours...I HOPE I CAN WAIT THAT LONG! LOL :))

My niece's 2nd Birthday

My niece celebrated her second birthday last March 24, 2012. Day before the party, I decided to help my sister Con in preparing the desserts for her dessert buffet.

I tried making the Red Velvet Cupcakes from My Heavenly Desserts. For a first timer, I did pretty awesome! Hahaha :)

That was the picture taken from my Blackberry. I had a hard time mixing all the ingredients together. If we had a mixer, I wouldn't be so exhausted...

I also made Chocolate cupcakes for the dessert table

My sister made her famous cake poppers which everyone loves.

And then she also made a Zebra themed Fondant Cake. The Carrot Cake inside was so Delish!

And she also made some cake pops :)

And some rocky road brownies

And her famous Snicker Doodles which was featured at Working Mom's Magazine as Editor's Pick (November 2011 issue)

With that, since I have nothing to do this summer, I am so inspired to do a lot of baking! Yeeaaah!! :)

Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 versus BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette

I received my UD Naked Palette 2 last February and now is the only time that I wrote about it. I've always been a fan of Urban Decay. I love their products. I was ecstatic when I heard last December that they would be releasing a sequel to the Naked Palette. I tried ordering several times online last December but it was always out of stock. By the time January came, they've already released hundreds of stocks because of the overwhelming demand from all over the world. I got mine from

Anyways, if you're a follower, I'm a makeup junkie. I love makeup. Any kind would do, drugstore or branded, name it. Last year, I hoarded a lot of stuff from BH Cosmetics. I love BH Cosmetics. Specially their eye shadow palettes.

Going back, so, I ordered the UD Naked Palette 2, as expected, the product did not fail me. Here are some pictures of the Palette:

UD Naked Palette 2

UD Lip Junkie in Naked

What I love about the Naked 2 is that it comes with the travel size Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Naked. The gloss is flavored. It tastes mint-y. The eye shadows are highly pigmented. Believe me when I say it is pigmented. Even if you scratch yourself with tons of soap and water, it won't come off. I had a hard time rubbing off the blackout eye shadow when it smeared on my bed and my hands.

The down side of having the palette is that I have the BH Cosmetics Shimmer Palette. The shadows that I oh so love from the Naked Palette are almost identical to the ones that are in BH. I said earlier, the eye shadows from BH Cosmetics are highly pigmented. It gives the same effect with or without the primer.

BH Cosmetics Shimmer Palette
On the picture below is a comparison of swatches from both Urban Decay and BH Cosmetics. Pistol and Chopper are identical to the shimmer eye shadows from BH Cosmetics.

swatch comparison of Naked Palette 2 and BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette

UD Naked Palette 2 retails at $50 while the BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette is around $19.95. It all depends on the consumer but for me, I'd go for the Shimmer Palette if you're on a budget.

Baby shower, Moving Up Day, Graduation, Summer = Hell Week

I think this week is the most tiring week of all the weeks in my calendar. Saturday is the day to beat. I have my moving-up day and then I have a baby shower to attend.

Margo's Invitation

Since I was invited to Margo's baby shower, I've decided to bring the yummy cake poppers of my sister. Ate Con made a yummy dessert that's somewhat similar to a French Macaroon.

Movie Review: John Carter

After eating, we watched John Carter. For everyone's reference, here is the movie trailer from

I thought the movie looked good. Animation wise, it really looked enticing but this movie bore the hell out of me. Sad to say. The start of the movie was toooo slow and confusing. My boyfriend slept the for like 30 mins after the 10 mins it rolled. When he woke-up, the movie was not even at the climax yet. It was confusing and the whole thing was  2 hours and so....I died of boredom watching this.

Animation wise, movie was spectacular. It looked like a star wars movie but story wise and progression wise...I'd rather sleep than watch this.

Johnny Chow Pig-out

It's been a tradition that every Saturday, we pig-out with our loved ones. Last Saturday, me and my siblings went to New Port Manila to watch a movie at Resorts World Manila and to eat. My boyfriend suggested that we eat at Johnny Chow.

All I can say is that food at Johnny Chow was fantastic!!

Okay, to begin with, I thought the food servings were a bit small...NOT AT ALL!! The food served is good for two to three people (depends on your appetite). Food was delish!! I love the ambiance. Although when we ate, I think it wasn't as cold inside the restaurant.

Gino and I ordered the Hot Prawn Salad, Chap Chae Noodles, and the Lechon Macau with Asado and we were sooooo FULL!! We didn't order any rice but the food was heavy. My sister and my brother-in-law ordered the wagyu beef soup and the other salad.

Bottles on the frame
How the place looked like

Hot Prawn Salad (P300++) THE BEST EVER!!

Salad (I forgot what this is called exactly around P200++)

Lechon Macau and Asado (P300 ++ good for 2 people)

Chap Chae (Korean Sweer Noodles with Beef around P310)

When you go to Resorts World Manila, you can check-out Johnny Chow :)
