Food Trip: Black Olive Cerveceria

It was Ladies Night last Saturday and ate Cacar messaged me if I can go out that night. I said yes of course! Who would resist going out? I'm making the most out of my single life. Anyway, I only have 5 days left before I get married so I'm expecting this week to be very hectic.

We were supposed to go to Shangri-la Mall and eat fancy food at the new wing but we got lazy to move to Shangri-La. We decided to hop to Capitol Commons instead. It's just walking distance from our houses. Our first choice was Tipsy Pig. We were already inside but the place was already packed with people at 8 pm.

Good thing we decided to leave and went to Black Olive Cerveceria. We were accommodated immediately. We had a nice table on the second floor. Ambiance was good. The service was good. Thumbs up to Black Olive.

The food for me was delicious. We ordered Pizza, appetizers and pasta. Price is on the higher end but overall it was a nice experience.

The attendant gave us a complimentary dish. It's bread with fancy oil dip. I don't know the name. Hahaha :D sorry. But anyways, it was okay.

Then they served the calamari. The calamari was also okay. The dip was okay too.

Then they served this. I think this is in the hot plate. It's called Chorizo something....but this I have to say is one of the best dish. It's really delicious. I love this plate.

And then this is the Proscioutto de Parma. Yummy for the price. It was worth it. I think this is P390 or something.

This one is the pasta. I also forgot the name but this is a good dish. I love the fact that they have quality food. It was rich in flavor.

My lovely neighbors. Ate Cacar and Ate Sheena :)

We would definitely go back here if time permits. I love the place. I love the food. I love the service.

Sebastian's: One of Manila's Finest Artisan Ice Cream

Me and Gino are food lovers. I know there are a lot of Artisan Ice Creams in the Metro and I heard that there are 3 top choices for Artisan Ice Creams and those are Sebatian's, Carmen's Best Artisanal Ice Cream and Gelato and Merry Moo Ice Cream.

Yesterday, I saw a blog about Sebatian's Green Mango Ice Cream with Bagoong on Top. I was intrigued by the flavor. For one, I have never tried an Ice Cream with Bagong on top....so, today, we decided to look for the nearest Sebatian's Ice Cream shop and we found one at The Podium.

I got a little sad because the Green Mango Ice Cream was not available. So, we opted to try the other flavors. Gino bought the Palitaw Ice Cream (Php 100) and I bought the Once in a Blue Moon Ice Cream (Php 140).

Palitaw Ice Cream (Left) Once In A Blue Moon Ice Cream (Right)

My goodness...these are really artisan ice creams. The flavor is rich and you can taste the real deal in the ice creams. It's like eating a real palitaw and a real blue cheese ice cream. The blue cheese ice cream was topped with carmel syrup (I think if I'm not mistaken) and walnuts. It taste heavenly.

They have other ice cream flavors to choose from like the Red Velvet, Sapin-Sapin, Champorado, Pure Mango, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt, Cookies n Cream, etc.

We would definitely go back to try the Green Mango with Bagoong Ice Cream

Because I'm Bored.....I'll try baking a Cheesecake! Yumm!!

I was looking for baking stuff online...I found several recipes for a cheesecake and stumbled upon this:

From allrecipes.com

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Prep Time: 30 mins
Cook Time: 1 Hour
Ready in: 7 hours 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 15 graham crackers, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  •
  • 4 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9 inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter. Press onto bottom of springform pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Blend in milk, and then mix in the eggs one at a time, mixing just enough to incorporate. Mix in sour cream, vanilla and flour until smooth. Pour filling into prepared crust.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Turn the oven off, and let cake cool in oven with the door closed for 5 to 6 hours; this prevents cracking. Chill in refrigerator until serving.

*It says there the wait time is 7 hours...I HOPE I CAN WAIT THAT LONG! LOL :))

Johnny Chow Pig-out

It's been a tradition that every Saturday, we pig-out with our loved ones. Last Saturday, me and my siblings went to New Port Manila to watch a movie at Resorts World Manila and to eat. My boyfriend suggested that we eat at Johnny Chow.

All I can say is that food at Johnny Chow was fantastic!!

Okay, to begin with, I thought the food servings were a bit small...NOT AT ALL!! The food served is good for two to three people (depends on your appetite). Food was delish!! I love the ambiance. Although when we ate, I think it wasn't as cold inside the restaurant.

Gino and I ordered the Hot Prawn Salad, Chap Chae Noodles, and the Lechon Macau with Asado and we were sooooo FULL!! We didn't order any rice but the food was heavy. My sister and my brother-in-law ordered the wagyu beef soup and the other salad.

Bottles on the frame
How the place looked like

Hot Prawn Salad (P300++) THE BEST EVER!!

Salad (I forgot what this is called exactly around P200++)

Lechon Macau and Asado (P300 ++ good for 2 people)

Chap Chae (Korean Sweer Noodles with Beef around P310)

When you go to Resorts World Manila, you can check-out Johnny Chow :)
