Updates!

Sorry for being MIA the past few days. I've been going back and forth fixing my papers because I'm going back to Malaysia. It's a pain to bounce from one department to another just to secure papers. Not only that it is time consuming , it's also expensive going to Makati and then going back again to Ortigas...but anyways...I'm bacccckkkkk!!!

I've seen the movie Maleficent last Thursday and my-oh-my...I am so high with the movie. Definitely worth watching! I love the twists in the story. At first I felt "uh-oh...this is going to be boring" but as it progressed, it was definitely surprising.

This is the scene that I loved most. The part where Vivienne Jolie-Pitt acted the role of the young Aurora. The two on-scene were sooooooo cute. I mean you can tell the chemistry was definitely of a mother and a daughter.

I also think that Elle Fanning was a superb choice for Princess Aurora. She was so beautiful. Quite naive in character but I love how she portrayed the role.

With regards to MAC True Love's Kiss, I really wanted to get the lipstick and in fact, I asked my husband to buy me the lipstick and the eyeshadow quad in MAC KL but sadly, no more stocks. A bit disappointing but that's how it is.

If you haven't seen the movie, I suggest you watch it! It's entertaining and you will love the twists in the story. Story-wise it was quite close to the original Sleeping Beauty...even the lines are quite true to the original one.

Side Note:
I'm thinking of giving a giveaway sometime this year and it will be a big one because my blog is turning 3 on October (wow...who would've thought that it is already 3?!) I'm thinking of including my favorites in my giveaway so
expect it to be a big one :)

Maleficent: Showing in theaters tomorrow!!

I am so excited for the movie Maleficent. I've been raving about it ever since I saw the teaser trailer way back.

Also, MAC will be releasing the Maleficent Collection here in Manila. I'm obviously still thinking if I will get True Love's Kiss and the eye shadow quad from the collection. There's really something about Limited Edition items that makes me want to buy them.

For now, let me share with you a video of Kandee Johnson who recreated the look of Angelina Jolie for Maleficent.

Another one from Promise Phan who also recreated the look of Maleficent using makeup from the MAC Maleficent Collection.

MAC Playland Lipsticks

MAC released the Playland Collection for Summer 2014. They described the collection as "Funtastical wonderland where spring becomes fabulous whirlwind of creativity and amusement".

The collection actually reminds me of Katy Perry's video California Gurls. The enigma of the video was also whimsical and the colors were vibrant. Not to mention, Katy also released the song in time for spring-summer.

I was able to purchase the Limited Edition MAC lipstick last week and I am very happy with my new lip colors.

I bought 2 shades - one is Happy-Go-Lucky and the other is Red Balloon. Both lipsticks are limited edition and comes from the Playland collection.

I am so in love with the Happy-Go-Lucky shade. It's a bright pink amplified creme lipstick. I even wore it yesterday at a wedding event.

That's the Happy-Go-Lucky shade.

This is the Red Balloon on my lips. I both love the colors. Both are in pink shades. Red Balloon is on the darker pink. I can't really say it's Red. It's more of the reddish pinkish color.

The lipsticks in general are highly pigmented. Although longevity wise I would say it only lasted 3 hours until it faded and needs to be re-touched. It's also very moisturizing.

I really love buying limited edition lipsticks. Maybe because I tend to regret not buying one specially with MAC LEs that I really like.

Side Note:
Anyways....I've been wanting to buy the Maleficent lipstick but I have too many red lipsticks already and to be honest, I'm not so fond of wearing red lipsticks because it makes me look older hahaha :) I think the True Loves Kiss is similar to the Viva Glam Rhianna. I opted not to purchase online. It was released in the US a few weeks ago. I want LEs in my collection but O really have a lot of red lipsticks. I can still think if I'll buy it or not because it will be released here in Manila on Wednesday in all the MAC counters...

Swapping? I want to swap too!! :)

I was watching YouTube Gurus Judy Travis of @itsjudytime and Shannon Harris of @shaaanxo. They had a swap of their favorite items (makeup to be exact). The only rule they had was to give each other 5 drugstore brands that they love and 5 high end brands that they also love.

Here is a picture of Judy and her box from Shannon

And here is a picture of Shannon and the box that she got from Judy

It was pretty fun to watch. I love the gifts of Shannon. Judy got a Tom Ford eye quad (I'm envious! Hahaha) and Shannon got mostly skin care products.

I also want to do a collaboration with another blogger. Hahahaha :> sort of like this swap thing. Message me if you want to do a collab :)

My current favorite product: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

I've always been intrigued by the power of what they say the "holy grail" of eyebrow products. I've searched for this product for quite sometime now and I found 2 online sellers who both had them on-hand and managed to get a taste of it.

True to its word...this is really the legitimate products of all products for the eyebrows.

This shade is in Chocolate. I also bought one in Auburn because I wasn't sure which shade to get.

I did an extensive research on this because I don't want to waste my money on a product which I know will not work. A lot of people atest that this is the best eyebrow product in the market.

This is the list of ingredients of the product:

And it claims to be:

I've been using different kinds of eyebrow products from Eye brow pencil to eye brow gel and eye brow powder. I needed all these stuff to get a brow fix. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade does everything - surprisingly! It replaced all the products mentioned above.

I wasn't able to buy the number 12 brush from Anastasia Beverly Hills because I didn't find any online seller who had it on-hand. I had to rely on my spoolie and my defined angled brush liner.

The product claims that it works in humid weather and it will not fade nor budge. I tested it myself and I can say it really works. I mean from where I am right now, this place is really really really hot and I am surprised that it didn't fade at all.

The product is also highly pigmented. A little goes a long way. I thought that the product was too small but I only needed one swipe and that's it.

This is my before and after picture. I love the effect of the product on my eyebrow.
I bought the color Chocolate and Auburn because I wasn't sure of my color but the one I'm using here is chocolate.

All I can say is that the hype is really true and I love this product.

Mother's Day Haul from Luxola

Sorry for being hiatus for 5 days...I've been out of town and internet connection was out of reach :(

Anyway, I'm back! I'm so happy that I finally have my Mother's Day items from Luxola. They had 30% off on their items and I took the opportunity to buy. Luxola is one of my trusted online shops. They ship your orders immediately and all their items are top quality. I love the fact that their site base is in Singapore and they ship directly to the Philippines without going through customs. They also give free shipping when you reach a certain amount.

Anyway, I fell in love with the brush brand called Zoeva. It's a German brand and they carry high quality brushes at a much affordable price. It's not as expensive as MAC but the quality is superb. I bought 2 Zoeva brushes from Luxola. I'm planning to buy more in the future.

This one is the 142 concealer buffer. I actually don't have any brushes for concealers...I saw this on the site and I bought one.

This one is the 101 Face Definer. This one is like the Sigma tapered brush. I don't have any tapered brush in my collection so I also bought one.

I've heard so much raves about the Sleek eye palettes. I actually don't like their blush. I bought a Sleek blush before and I only used it once. I gave another shot to this brand and bought this.

I'm quite excited to play with this babies soon and share my thoughts with you guys.

Product Review: Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Make-up Remover Cleansing Facial Wipes

I was in the grocery a few days back and I came across the Celeteque stand. My eyes were glued to the stand because there were so many new Celeteque products. I came to love Celeteque because of Sample Room. Anyways, this product caught my attention.

I am a make-up junkie and of course, for us to have good skin, we need to take care of it by cleaning it properly. To make the introduction short, I bought this make-up wipe remover from the grocery.

This is the Celeteque Dermo Science Hydration Make-Up Remover Cleansing Facial Wipe [the product caught me on the word HYDRATION...yeah, summer in the Philippines? You know how horrible that is]

At the side part it says:

  • Active Skin Hydrators help boost the skin's level of moisture while effectively removing make-up, excess oil, and traces of pollution on the skin's surface
  • Clinically proven to improve smoothness of the skin in 2 weeks

I tried it myself and it does the work. It gives your skin that hydrated feeling unlike those of regular make-up wipes that leaves your face dry. If you've tried products containing Hylaraunic Acids (i.e. Hada Labo products or the H2O+ Hydrating products), you would know what I'm talking about.

It makes me feel like a Korean Actress with porcelain skin.

PROs
- removes your makeup
- it has a nice scent
- soft material that doesn't give that scratchy feel
- leaves your face hydrated unlike other products that makes your face dry afterwards
- easily available (you can buy it in the grocery or in Watsons)

CONs
- a bit pricey (you only get 20 wipes)
- nothing else I can think of other than the price

Here's a rundown of the product:

Product: Celeteque Dermo Science Hydration Make-Up Remover Cleansing Facial Wipes
What it does: Removes Make-up and Hydrates your face
Product Amount: 20 Sheets
Price: PHP 160
Will I buy it again: Yes, definitely
Will I recommend it to others: Yes! I highly recommend this product

April Favorites

It's already May 4 and you know what that means! It's time to post my official favorites for the month of April!! Yay!! I decided to really slim down my favorites into a smaller number because I want to emphasize that these really were the products that gave the WOW factor plus I used it on a daily basis.

SO let's get started!

1) Soap and Glory Hand Food - This is really a major wow for me. I've tried and tested a lot of hand creams from a lot of brands ranging from Bath and Body Works, The Body Shop, Victoria's Secret and some other generic drugstore brands and this one really does the trick. It makes your hands smooth. I love this product so much that I also used it on my feet. They also have a foot cream but I was browsing Sephora in KL and it wasn't available.

2) Cinema Secrets Professional Makeup Brush Cleaner - Remember my quest for finding the best spot on makeup brush cleaner...well...this is my holy grail spot cleaner. My basis for giving the title "best" is that a) it's supposed to clean my brushes with minimal spray pumps 2) it removes the dirt instantly 3) it should smell good....and it satisfied all my basis that's why I call it my holy grail cleaner

3) Colour Collection Lipstick in Angelic - This lipstick has been my go-to lipstick when I was travelling. I always used this one because I like nude lipsticks. The color is a healthy pink-ish nude and I like it. It's moisturizes my lips plus I like the stain that it gives.

4) The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer - My holy grail bronzer for the month of April. I used this product for contouring and bronzing. It's a matte powder and it doesn't give that shine that's why it can also be used as a shadow. I like that it is dual purpose and it is handy.

5) The Balm Frat Boy Blush - I like the peachy pink tone. I think Peach Nude Pink is the color for my Summer 2014. I've used this every time I went out on  a date with my husband during my vacation.

6) Ben Nye Media Pro Corrector Wheel - My Holy Grail product for the month of April (and maybe forever). I love love love love this product. I never have to use another concealer again. I'll give a separate review of this in the coming days but I thank the Pro Makeup Artists that I have been talking with the past few days and they advised that it is best to use a color corrector than a concealer if I was opting for a natural look and they are all correct. Love this to bits and pieces.

Those were my top picks for April! What's yours? :)
