Colourpop Cosmetics Haul

I I first heard about Colourpop Cosmetics through Dani from CoffeebreakwithDani. It was way back last year that she was raving about this new cosmetic company that sells really good eye shadows with a $5 price. It was only this year that I got to order and try these babies. It took me awhile to figure out how to order since Colourpop doesn't ship international. They only ship to US, Australia and New Zealand at the moment.

I ordered their Spring collection eyeshadow called Rebound. I'm not sure if this is still available at the moment. I also ordered 3 Lippie Stix. All of these costs $5 each (4 eyeshadows is $20 and 3 Lippie Stix is $15).

The Super Shock shadow shades are Ex,  Adios, Too Soon and One and Done. How cool are those names? Lol very nice names for the quad Rebound. Hahaha :))

I can say that the colors are really nice for  Spring-Summer. The formula of the eyeshadow is something new to me. It's like a bouncy cream consistency that turns to powder when used.

These are the shades when swatched at the back of the hand. It is very pigmented and it turns to powder.

Then I ordered 3 Lippie Stix which were Frida (Satin), Easy (glossy) and Brink (matte).

The top picture is Frida. It's a collaboration between coffeebreakwithdani and Colourpop cosmetics. It's a nude pink Colour which I love. I wear this shade the most out of the 3.

Pictures on top is my bare lips and bottom is with Frida. It's very much like a MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade.

Next is the shade Easy which is a glossy finish. I find the shade very girly and Barbie type.

Upper picture is my bare lips and lower one is with Easy. It reminds me of the shade St. Germain from MAC. It's a very Barbie pink color.

The last shade is Brink which is a matte formula. It reminds me very much of the 90s lips or the Kylie Jenner lips. We warned though that I feel the lipstick is very drying since its matte. I recommend that you pucker your lips with some lip balm before putting this on.

Upper picture is my bare lips and lower picture is with Brink. The shade can be a dupe to MAC Mehr.

Points to Ponder:

What I like about the product:
- eyeshadows are highly pigmented
- price is a steal ($5 each?! For a very nice product..it surely is a good price)
- contains a decent amount of product
- the technology of the eyeshadows are very new to me (bouncy cream to powder formula)
-Lippie Stix are very easy to apply. It glides well on the lips. It has a creamy formula that reminds me of the NARS Audacious lipsticks

Neutral:
- Lippie Stix has a scent. It doesn't smell like the MAC lipsticks but it smells similar. The scent doesn't bother me.

What I don't like about the products:
- they don't ship international
- matte formula for the Lippie Stix can be very drying. My advise is to put a lip balm first before applying the matte Lippie Stix.
- eyeshadows take a lot of getting used to. It's hard to apply for a newbie
- it's hard to combine the shadows all together. You will need the proper tools (dense synthetic brushes) for it to be applied properly.

Where to buy: colourpop cosmetics website
Price: Super Shock Eyeshadow $5 each
          Lippie Stix $5 each
Ships international: No, only ships to USA, Australia and New Zealand

Holika Holika Hello Holika Blusher and Highlighter

Hello beauties! Happy 2015! Last year was a very good year but I'm looking forward to a more blessed and fun-filled year this year.

Anyway, what better way to start this year with a first look at the Holika Holika blush that I recently purchased from a Korean Website.

This is the Holika Holika Hello Holika Blush and Highlighter. I know it comes in two shades. The one I got was in number 01.

This product is really not a new one from Holika Holika. I know it's been in their product range for a long time. My attention was caught because of the very cute product design.

The packaging is also very sleek and cute.

Oh lovely this blusher is...I just want to stare at it and not use it at all. It's really so pretty. I tried swatching and the product is very creamy. It gives off a pinkish orange blush with some hints of highlight. I shall update this entry with some swatches in the future. It's very dark right now and the pictures won't do justice.

Year End Round Up: Top 5 Favorite Blush for 2014

Two more days until we welcome the New Year! What better way to celebrate than to round up my favorite blushes for 2014.

Disclaimer: The products in this review are not in any way sponsored. I bought the products myself and some were received as gifts. The opinions below are purely my opinions. Products work for me but it may not work for everyone.

1. Guerlain Meteorites Holiday 2014 Edition

I got this as a gift from Crystal, my swap partner who I met in a Beauty Group in Facebook. I love love love this product because it works as a blush and at the same time as a highlighter. Packaging is very very luxurious. It comes with a puff inside but I find the puff a little useless. I use my Zoeva face definer brush with this one.

2. MAC Limited Edition Sea Me, Hear Me (Alluring Aquatics Collection)

One of my favorite MAC products. It's a little bit hard to put on this blush. It's not the same quality as the blushes that MAC produces before. It takes time to build up but it works for me. I also love the packaging. This came with the Alluring Aquatics collection so you can't buy it in MAC counters.

3. NARS Super Orgasm

Probably one of the best blushes that I've tried. One of my favorites for this year. It's very creamy and also very easy to apply. Highly pigmented. It doesn't have any scent to it. A must have blush for every makeup junkie :)

4. Physicians Formula Glow and Mood Boosting Blush in Rose

Drugstore brand blush but it is super pigmented. I love how my brush easily picks up the product. I also love the heart design on the blush. It comes with a small mirror and a small blush brush.

5. The Balm Frat Boy Blush

My favorite blush of all time :) Highly pigmented. Cute packaging. Contains a lot of products (8.5g). Cheaper than other blushes mentioned above.

Those are my favorites for 2014. I would love to hear yours! :)

Makeup Revolution Triple Baked Bronzer in Summer of Love

Makeup Revolution is finally available in Malaysia! I did a little online shopping a few weeks ago and got me some items from the site.

One of the items I bought was this Bronzer. The packaging looks very similar to Too Faced but this one is a Bronzer. The one you can buy from Too Faced is a blush. Makeup Revolution also has a blush in this heart packaging but I didn't get myself one. Maybe next time :)

As you can see, packaging is very cute. It is made out of cardboard and the color is gold and purple. The shade that I got is Summer of Love. I believe there is still one more shade for the Bronzer.

The Bronzer itself is more of a subtle Bronzer. Unlike The Balm Bahama Mama which is a "whoah" Bronzer type hahaha (you get what I mean right?) it actually works like a highlighter than a Bronzer for me. Maybe the pigment for this one will really show off on really light or fair skintone. I'm a medium so this is like a powder with shimmer on me.

You can get it on the makeup revolution website which is:

http://www.makeuprevolution.my

Price : RM 39.00

Year End Round-up: Top 5 Foundations for 2014

Only 3 more days until we embrace 2015 and what better way to welcome the new year with a round-up of my makeup favorites for 2014.

Disclaimer: The products above are not sponsored of any sort. I bought the items and some were given as gifts. All that I state below are purely my thoughts. The products work for me but it might not work for everyone.

1. Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in1

This was given to me as a gift. I've wanted to buy this foundation for the longest time. It is available in Manila but I just didn't have the time to go out whenever I was there. Sadly it's not available in Malaysia. My swap partner, Crystal, gave this to me as a Christmas gift. I am so amazed with this product. I love coverage. I mean, if you put on foundation, might as well go full blast with it. This gives you medium to full coverage and it is buildable. The consistency of the foundation is a bit water-y than most but it works. The only down side for me is that it has a pink undertone which doesn't work as well as others. It kind of gives me the white effect but I like this foundation :)

2. Catrice Nude Illusion in 030 Nude Beige

Another gift given by Crystal all the way from Austria. I am so impressed with this foundation. This is a full coverage one. One tiny drop goes all the way. When I finish the bottle, I plan to repurchase. Catrice is available in Manila and also in Malaysia but I haven't seen any foundations here in Kuala Lumpur.

3. Sephora 10 HR Wear Perfection Foundation

As you can see in the picture, this foundation is almost empty. Hahaha :) my most prized foundation of all. It gives medium to full coverage and it has a correct undertone. It also has a pump so it's easy to apply. Very creamy consistency compared to the Covergirl 3-in-1.

4. Makeup Forever HD Foundation

This foundation is gives a light to medium coverage. Consistency is liquid-y (not the typical that I go for) but what I love about this foundation is that it is HD camera friendly. The best friend of people who wants to take selfies LOL. It hides your pores making you look flawless on pictures.

5. RCMA Vincent Kehoe Cream Foundation

The big daddy of all foundations and the friend of every makeup artist. It does the work of Makeup Forever HD Foundation plus you get a lot of pigment for a tiny amount. You get 18 shades on this palette which is very suitable if you are a MUA. You can also use the shades for concealing, highlight and contour. What more can you ask for? Price is a little bit steep but it does the job.

I would love to hear what are your favorite foundations for 2014!

Kiko Milano Limited Edition Rock Attraction Bronzer and Blush

I was privileged enough to own these two beautiful products from Kiko thanks to my friend Crystal who is in Austria and Clarisse who is in the UK. They gave me Limited Edition Kiko Milano beauty products.

Kiko Milano is a professional Italian cosmetic brand that features cutting edge products for the face and the body. Currently, it is only available in Europe that's why I am very privileged to own these beautiful products.

Kiko cosmetics LE Rock Attraction Bronzer in 01 Steady Honey

This is by far, the most stunning Bronzer I've seen. It's been with me for a few days now and I just kept on staring at it. Hahahaha :> it's too pretty to touch but for the sake of this review, I will swatch it for you.

Swatch

As you can see, the Bronzer is very subtle for my skin tone. It's not too loud as the Bahama mama but it's alright to do the bronzing part. It is also a little shimmery. Overall, I like it and I can't wait to play with it :)

Kiko Cosmetics LE Rock Attraction Blush in 03 Crossroad Pink

One of the most stunning blush that I own. This came to me last October if I recall correctly and up to now, I haven't used it because it's really beautiful. Like what I said, I will swatch it today so that you can see the pigment.

Swatch

The color looks beautiful. It reminds me of the blush from MAC from the Osbourne collection. It takes a little time to produce this swatch but overall, I like the blush.

Do you own Kiko products? What are your thoughts about the products? I would love to hear from you in the comment section below :)

Review and Swatches: Too Faced À La Mode Eyes Palette

I bought this palette last month. I was supposed to give this out as a gift but I told myself this is a limited edition palette (who am I kidding? I loveeeee anything LE), hence, I decided to keep it for myself because I might not get the chance to own one.

I was supposed to buy the UD Palette but I find the colors too bold. I can't use it on a day to day basis...plus I am not a makeup artist so it would be a waste to buy that. I bought this one instead.

Packaging is gorgeous. I threw away the box but it was one of my basis for buying this one (HAHHAAHA...i know I'm not alone when it comes to packaging).

Colors are to die for! Pigmentation is great. When I first used the eyeshadow, I didn't need any primer at all and I only used one swipe for each color and the payoff was gorgeous.

I want to show you a picture of the eyeshadows up close:

St. Tropez

Riviera

Cannes, Soleil, Jardin and Còte d' Azur

La Croisette

Monacco and De La Mer

The palette contains 9 eyeshadows and you can create 3 looks from the palette which are Day, Classic and Fashion.

I want to show you the swatches for the 3 suggested looks:

Of the 3 looks, Day is my personal favorite as I always use the 3 eyeshadows. It is very wearable for office makeup since it looks natural. It also looks very dainty.

Product Rundown:
Product: Too Faced À La Mode Eyes
Price: RM119
Where to Buy: Sephora

Pros:
- lovely pigmentation
- great color combination
- cute packaging

Cons:
- bulky packaging
- a little bit on the pearl/shimmer side but the shimmer is subtle. If you like matte eyeshadows then this might not be the palette for you

Overall:

I'm very much satisfied with the palette. Definitely worth the price as the pigmentation of the eyeshadows are good.

First Look: Bourjois Cosmetics

Hello ladies! Finally back from being MIA. HaHa! I miss blogging! I've been very busy with errands and forgive me for that.

Anyways, in this entry, I want to share with you guys my recent trip to Watsons Pavilion. I am so happy that Bourjois is finally available not only in Sunway Pyramid but also in Watsons!

I got this picture from Bourjois Malaysia FB page. Bourjois is currently available in Pavilion and Sungei Wang Plaza. The last stop will be at Suria.

I bought the Healthy Mix Foundation and the Blush. All I can say is that it was worth the wait buying the products.

I bought the blush in 02 Rose Frisson. I like that this is magnetic. You don't have to worry that you won't be able to close the compartment and make a mess in your cosmetic bag.

It also comes with a blush brush inside. It also has a small size mirror which I think I wouldn't use but that's a plus. If you can see the two silver circles, those are the magnets.

The color of the blush is like a hot rose pink color. The blush has this scent to it. What I realized about French products is that they like rose scents. Some are sweet scents, some are very floral. The blush smells floral. Kinda reminds me of how my grandma smells. The scent kinda annoys me but when you actually put in on your face. The scent goes away.

I also bought the healthy mix foundation. It's been so raved about both on the blogging sphere and on YouTube. They said it was comparable to a Chanel foundation. I don't know if this is true but I think they said that Chanel and Bourjois are sister companies. So maybe that's why they have the same formulation? I don't know but this is a good foundation for a cheap price.

My shade is in Beige Clair or Light Beige.

I can't wait to use both products in the future. I think this will be included in my July favorites. Teehee! :>

How bout you? Do you have any hauls to share?

Glamglow Youthmud Tingle Exfoliate Treatment

I've been hearing so much positive feedback about this product or should I say the brand itself is making a lot of buzz.

Anyways, people are saying that this is a super mud used by Hollywood stars in exfoliating their skin. I was given a sample of this product last Christmas. It was sent to me by my sister from the USA. She got it from Sephora. It was only now that I had the time to test the product and see if it works.

The sample that I got was the black one. It's the tingle exfoliate treatment. I was hesitant to try this because i was reading a lot of reviews and they were saying they had breakouts after trying this product. My skin is not at it's best condition right now. I don't have acne but I have small breakouts like the rash type on the skin. I read that this is due to the hormonal imbalance. I'm quite irritated that it's taking forever to get rid of the small rashes on my face that's why I tested this mud mask.

The direction says to apply a thin layer on the face. That's how it looks like with the thin layer. You can see sort of black spots on my face. I don't know what that was.

To warn you, if you'll be using this one, it stings like hell. It's like it's burning your face but the moment it cools down, you'll feel that minty fresh sensation on your face.

After 10 mins., my face looked like this. The solution became stiff - sort of like you are wearing a breakable thing on your face.

Afterwards, you have to rinse it off in circular motion with water.

The effect on my skin was instantaneous. I felt that my skin was clean and that it became softer. It gives you the feeling of a facial treatment at the comfort of your house.

PROs
- instant effect on the skin
- leaves a fresh clean feeling
- leaves the skin soft
- pores became smaller (I had a breakout on my cheek pores, it became bigger for some reason but upon using this, it became smaller)

CONs
- stings your face
- expensive

Rundown of the product:

Glamglow Youthmud Tingle Exfoliate Treatment

Where to buy: Sephora
What it does: Mud Exfoliator
Price: Sample, got it for free

Will I buy the full size product after testing the sample?

- No...just because it's too expensive for me. I feel that some other products will do the same immediate effects at half the price. It does work but the price is ridiculously high for me.

Will you recommend it to others?

- Yes! I do recommend the product because it works instantly. I do like it but the real downside is the price.
